This is Me🙂

Hi. Feels like a good time for an Introduction as there are a few new people following along with my journey.

I’m Kelly, the potter of Bluebird Pottery Studio Killorglin Co Kerry.

I began my business journey with clay 1 year ago last month with no inkling of what was to come.

After my initial Winter Course in Kinsale Co Cork,

I fell in love with the medium and was eager to continue exploring as a student member of the pottery school.

Through those months I retired from my 30yr career as a self employed Hairdresser and thought I would be diving into Massage & Reiki full time as I'm fully qualified also, but that was all at a stand still. For a Birthday gift my husband bought me a potter’s wheel. He saw my connection to clay, and I have to say I was shocked. We aren’t really the big gift giving kind, or ‘leap of faith’ kinda couple. But that first month with my own wheel solidified that this was going to be part of my life for a very long time.

Now fast forward… kickstarter campaign, soon to open online store, get a kiln, open at home studio, teaching students non-stop, attend various shows and markets … and now, I am a full time potter (who does massage on the side).

What can I say except that this life is a short, whirlwind of experiences and happenings, and all we get to do is hold on and try to soak in the beautiful ones. With kindness, gratitude and a little more love, I hope to continue this journey and create thousands more pieces of Pottery for years to come.
